Allied Universal is seeking Security Supervisor in Fort Saskatchewan, Canada.

Job title:  Security Supervisor

Location: Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta

Type: Full Time

Pay rate: $29.23 per hour

Shifts: 12 hours, (0630-1830/1830-0630), averaged

Schedule: Rotational 4-5-5-4

Must comply with the site's clean-shave policy due to Health and Safety compliance

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Site Surveillance & Patrol:The Security Shift Supervisor shall be a working member of the Security Shift and will be one of the guards on duty. The individual will coordinate and control all security matters on the site. Perform regular patrols of the site and surrounding areas to ensure the security of the premises. Monitor all entry points for unauthorized access.
  • Visibility & Coverage: Maintain high visibility at the designated posts. Ensure security coverage near sensitive areas within the site. 
  • During every shift, one Security Shift Supervisor shall be on duty. The Security Shift Supervisor has direct leadership over the contract security team and reports directly to the Security Coordinator or designate in their absence.
  • Access Control: Enforce site access protocols by verifying the identification of authorized personnel, logging visitor entry and exit, and ensuring that gates and doors remain securely locked when not in use.
  • Communication: Maintain clear and constant communication via radio with other security personnel. Report incidents, unusual activities, or security concerns promptly.
  • Emergency Response: Respond quickly and appropriately to any emergencies, including medical incidents, fires, or security breaches. Contact emergency services and assist as necessary.
  • Incident Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of all security activities, incidents, and patrols. Complete shift reports and provide detailed handover notes for the next shift.
  • Site & Asset Protection: Prevent theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access to site materials and equipment. Ensure all property is secured at all times.
  • Compliance with Safety Procedures: Ensure adherence to all safety policies and procedures on-site, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) by all personnel.
  • General Security Duties: Ensure the overall safety and security of the site and surrounding areas by addressing any security risks or safety concerns that arise during the shift.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Be at least 18 years of age with high school diploma or equivalent
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Possess effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner
  • Licensing requirements are subject to province and/or local laws and regulations and will be required prior to employment.
  • As a condition of employment, employee must successfully complete a background check
  • As a condition of employment, employee must successfully complete drug and alcohol testing
  • Possess a valid Alberta Class 5 Driver's licence
  • Display exceptional customer service and communication skills
  • Have intermediate computer skills to operate innovative, wireless technology at client specific sites
  • Ability to handle crisis situations at the client site, calmly and efficiently
  • Able to:
    • Work in various environments such as cold weather, rain/snow or heat
    • Occasionally lift or carry up to 20 kilograms
    • Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shift
    • Stand or walk on various surfaces for long periods of time
