Allied Universal is currently seeking a Security Guard - Control Room to join our team.

We are seeking a highly professional and vigilant Control Post Security guard to join our team at a site  The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring security operations from the control post, ensuring the safety and security of the premises, and maintaining effective communication with security staff, visitors, and emergency services when required.

Position Details

Job Title: Security Guard - Control Room
Location: Sudbury , ON
Employment Type: Full-Time (Rotational Shifts)
Shift Schedule: 12:00 AM to 08:00 AM

Compensation: $22.23 per hour

Preferred Experience & Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Police Foundations, Criminal Justice, Law and Security, or a related field is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with employees, visitors, contractors, emergency responders, and stakeholders at all levels.
• Demonstrated commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
• Strong report writing skills with the ability to prepare accurate, detailed, and timely incident reports.
• Proven decision-making, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• High level of professionalism, integrity, and sound judgment.
• Strong situational awareness with the ability to remain alert and respond proactively to security concerns.

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum 1–2 years of security control room or similar experience (preferred)
• Valid Ontario Security Guard License (or equivalent)
• Strong computer skills and familiarity with CCTV and access control systems
• Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
• Strong attention to detail and situational awareness
• Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor CCTV cameras, access control systems, alarms, and other security systems from the control post
• Maintain constant surveillance of  premises to identify and respond to security incidents
• Coordinate and dispatch security personnel to incidents, emergencies, and service requests
• Maintain accurate logs, reports, and incident documentation in real time
• Communicate clearly and professionally with staff, visitors, contractors, and emergency responders
• Handle incoming calls and inquiries in a professional and courteous manner
• Ensure proper key control and access authorization procedures are followed
• Respond promptly to alarms and escalate issues as per site protocols
• Support emergency procedures including fire alarms, evacuations, and lockdowns
• Ensure all security procedures and site policies are strictly followed

• Ability to work in various environmental conditions (e.g., cold, heat, rain, snow)

• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods

• Ability to occasionally lift or carry up to 40 lbs
