Security Professional

Allied Universal is seeking a motivated and professional Security Guard to join our team at one of our high-end retail stores in Halifax, Nova Scotia ! 

Are you passionate about security, customer service, and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment? In this role, you will play an important part in protecting employees, customers, store property, and assets while providing professional security services in a retail environment.

Position Details

• Job Title: Security Guard – Retail

• Employment Type: Full-Time

• Pay Rate: $17.25/hour 

• Schedule: Must be available Monday through Sunday

• Shift: 9:30am-9:30pm, 9:30pm-9:30am

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular security patrols of the store.

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for customers, employees, and store property.

• Monitor CCTV systems, alarms, and access control systems.

• Monitor and control access to restricted areas.

• Respond promptly and professionally to incidents, emergencies, and requests for assistance.

• Identify and report suspicious activity, security risks, and unusual occurrences.

• Assist with security incidents and contact emergency services when necessary.

• Prepare accurate and detailed incident reports and shift logs.

• Provide excellent customer service while maintaining a visible and professional security presence.

• Work collaboratively with store management, employees, and other security team members.

• Follow all site-specific security procedures, policies, and operational guidelines.

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year of security experience or experience in a similar environment is considered an asset.

• Valid first aid certification

• Customer service certification required.

• Strong observation, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Comfortable using computers and security monitoring systems.

• Experience with CCTV, access control, or alarm systems is considered an asset.

• High school diploma or equivalent work experience.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.

• Legally authorized to work in Canada for up to 40 hours per week.

• Ability to successfully complete the site's required background screening, including a five-year background check.
