Allied Universal is seeking Security Guard - Manufacturing Facility - Part Time at Leduc,AB.
Job Title: Security Guard - Manufacturing Facility
Job Type: Part - Time
Pay: $24 - $25 per hour
Shifts: Weekends ; 2100 - 0900
This role is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, thrive in fast paced operational environments, and are committed to delivering exceptional security services. The successful candidate core duties include controlling site access, conducting routine perimeter patrols, monitoring digital surveillance systems, checking for safety or fire hazards, and documenting daily activity logs.
Physical & Work Requirements
Ability to safely perform duties requiring extended periods of standing, walking, and sitting.
Ability to conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols as assigned.
Ability to remain alert and attentive throughout assigned shifts.
Ability to respond promptly and professionally to security incidents and emergency situations.
Ability to work flexible and extended hours, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to work indoors and outdoors and in varying weather conditions as required.
Ability to perform duties associated with monitoring entrances, exits, parking areas, gates, and other designated areas.
Ability to safely perform other physical duties associated with the position.
Key Responsibilities
Control access and admittance to the site and prevent unauthorized or unlawful entry.
Screen employees, visitors, contractors, vendors, and other individuals entering or leaving the property.
Assist legitimate visitors in a courteous, respectful, and professional manner.
Monitor entrances, exits, gates, parking areas, and other designated access points.
Control the movement of people and vehicles on the property as required.
Operate gates and related access-control equipment.
Examine vehicle contents when authorized and required by site procedures.
Monitor CCTV and remote access systems.
Conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols of the property.
Check for security violations, safety hazards, unlocked doors, blocked entrances or exits, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons.
Observe and report suspicious activity, security incidents, safety concerns, and other unusual conditions.
Protect evidence and incident scenes when required.
Prepare accurate security logs, incident reports, and other required documentation.
Respond to fire, medical emergencies, bomb threats, flooding, hazardous materials incidents, severe weather, workplace violence, and other security emergencies in accordance with site procedures and training.
Conduct property-removal checks as required.
Maintain communication with supervisors and appropriate personnel regarding security matters.
Follow site policies, procedures, post orders, directives, and applicable security requirements.
Perform other similar duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1–2 years of security experience, preferably in corporate, commercial, or access control environments.
- Valid Alberta Security Services Worker Licence (required).
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence with a clean driving record.
- Valid First Aid & CPR Certification.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada and available to work up to 40 hours per week, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, report writing, and incident documentation.
- Experience using CCTV monitoring, access control systems, and alarm monitoring systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong customer service abilities.
- Strong observation, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure, manage incidents professionally, and work independently or as part of a team.
- Experience in access control, corporate office security, or similar professional security environments is considered a strong asset.
