Allied Universal is seeking a Receptionist at our Head Office in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada

Overview

  • Title: Receptionist
  • Full time/Hourly/unionized
  • Onsite 8:30am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday
  • Location: Mississauga (427& 401)
  • Entry level $18-$20/hour
  • Reports to: Shared between HR & Operations

Job Description

· Greet and direct visitors as appropriate based on the purpose of their visit

· Ability to thrive in a busy executive corporate office environment while acting as a first point of contact for our clients, guests, and employees

· Perform an extensive array of administrative tasks, including, but not limited to managing meeting room calendars, shipping and receiving, mail collection and distribution, maintaining office supply inventory, ordering office and kitchen supplies, etc

· Ensure the visitors log is completed as required and allocate guest access cards as required

· Ensure visitors are escorted at all times (unless an access pass has been requested for them by a manager)

· Keeping stock of important documents and materials at the reception desk for ease of access

· Work with recruiters to help with application screening, onboarding, new-hire orientation, and uniform tracking/inventory

· Maintain the professional appearance and general organization of reception and mailroom

· Partner with key stakeholders within the office (i.e., Executive Assistants, Finance, IT, Operations, Marketing, Sales)

· Identify and implement opportunities for improvement, including processes and procedures

· Other assigned projects and general administration tasks as required.

Qualifications

· High school diploma or equivalent experience

· Prior reception experience is preferred but not mandatory

· Highly proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

· Possesses excellent verbal/written communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills.

· You are detail-oriented and have excellent organizational & time management skills.

· Ability to interface and communicate with all levels of the organization

· Provide a positive experience to our customers, clients, and employees

· Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

· Must demonstrate a desire to embrace learning opportunities and take initiative

· Ability to be discreet and handle confidential, sensitive information

· Must be eligible to work 40 hours per week

· Security license is preferred but not mandatory

· As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, provincial, and local laws
