Allied Universal is seeking Security Guard - Truck Yard in a warehouse facility environment.
Job Title: Security Guard - Truck Yard
Location: Mississauga, ON
Pay Rate: $19.00 - $19.43 per hour
Shift Hours: Afternoons; 1500 to 2300hrs and Overnights, 2300 to 1100hrs
Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Security Guard - Truck Yard to join our team in a gatehouse environment. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of the facility, staff, and visitors. This position involves both indoor and outdoor duties, including long patrols across the facility and grounds. You will be expected to maintain a high level of customer service and demonstrate excellent access control skills. The ideal candidate will have strong communication abilities, a keen eye for security, and a commitment to upholding safety standards.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and screen all visitors and employees entering or exiting the facility. Ensure that proper security protocols are followed, including signing in/out and issuing access passes.
- Conduct long walk patrols throughout the facility and outdoor areas, monitoring entrances, parking lots, and perimeter fences. This may involve standing and walking for extended periods in varying weather conditions.
- Monitor and operate VVM (video surveillance) systems to detect and report suspicious or unusual activity.
- Provide exceptional customer service to staff, visitors, and vendors by answering inquiries, assisting with directions, and addressing concerns in a professional and approachable manner.
- Perform mobile patrols as required to ensure site safety and security.
- Document and report any security incidents, unusual activity, or safety hazards promptly, ensuring that all relevant details are recorded accurately for future review.
- Serve as the first point of contact for emergencies, including medical incidents, fires, and other safety-related situations. Respond swiftly and effectively according to established protocols.
- Work closely with the warehouse team and management to ensure smooth operations and a secure working environment.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of security inspections, incident reports, and access control logs for compliance purposes.
Requirements:
Valid Ontario G Drivers Licence (mandatory).
Experience with mobile patrols and surveillance systems (VVM).
Strong computer skills, including report writing, typing, and basic system navigation.
Ability to communicate clearly, remain professional under pressure, and work independently or as part of a team.
- Must have a valid Ontario Security License.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent/GED, or equivalent work experience.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
