Position: Tactical Security Professional
Location: Vancouver, British Columbia
Payrate: $24.97 per hour
Status: Full - Time
Shift: Monday To Friday ; 1400 - 2200
Overview:
We are seeking a professional, reliable, and customer-focused Tactical Security Professional - Full Time to join our team. The successful candidate will provide a highly visible security presence while maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for tenants, customers, employees, and visitors. This position requires strong observation skills, excellent communication, professionalism, and the ability to respond appropriately to security incidents while following company policies and procedures.
This is a hands-off security position, requiring guards to use verbal de-escalation, conflict resolution, and strong communication skills to resolve situations whenever possible.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of Tactical Security Guard experience is required.
- AST (Advanced Security Training) Certificate is considered an asset.
- Valid BC Security Guard License.
- First Aid/CPR Certification (required).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong observation, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated experience in conflict de-escalation and maintaining professionalism in high-pressure situations.
- Experience conducting foot patrols, responding to incidents, and completing detailed incident reports.
- Knowledge of trespass enforcement, access control, and emergency response procedures.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with tenants, visitors, and the public.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Basic computer skills and experience using report-writing software.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent/GED or equivalent work experience
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods, occasionally climb stairs, and lift or carry up to 40 pounds.
Responsibilities:
Experience working at high-profile commercial, residential, retail, or mixed-use properties.
Experience with access control systems, CCTV monitoring, and incident management.
Strong conflict resolution and de-escalation skills.
Conduct regular interior and exterior patrols of the property.
Maintain a visible security presence to deter unauthorized activity, theft, vandalism, and other security concerns.
Monitor CCTV, access control, alarm systems, and other security technologies.
Respond promptly and professionally to incidents, emergencies, and calls for service.
Provide exceptional customer service and assistance to tenants, residents, visitors, and contractors.
Enforce property rules, regulations, and site-specific procedures.
Assist with access control and visitor management as required.
Investigate and document incidents, accidents, and unusual occurrences.
Identify and report safety hazards, maintenance concerns, and security vulnerabilities.
Support emergency response procedures and coordinate with emergency services when required.
Complete accurate reports, logs, and electronic documentation in a timely manner.
Work collaboratively with property management and other stakeholders to maintain a safe and professional environment.
