Allied Universal is seeking an experienced Security Manager to lead and support the development, implementation, and ongoing management of the security program in Canada.
This is a strategic, client-facing leadership position responsible for supporting multiple corporate locations across Canada. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience building and maintaining a comprehensive corporate security program within a complex, multi-site organization.
The Security Manager will serve as a trusted security advisor to Netflix leadership and will regularly engage with senior executives and C-suite stakeholders. This position requires strong business judgment, executive-level communication skills, and the ability to develop practical security solutions that support the client’s people, culture, operations, and business objectives.

Position Overview:
Allied Universal is seeking an experienced and results-driven Security Manager to lead security operations at a major Commercial facility in Vancouver, British Columbia. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing daily site operations, managing and developing security personnel, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and delivering exceptional client service while meeting financial and operational objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, maintain, and continuously improve the corporate security program across multiple Canadian locations.
- Establish consistent national security standards, policies, procedures, and operating practices.
- Serve as the primary security liaison between Allied Universal and Corporate leadership in Canada.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior leaders, executives, and C-suite stakeholders.
- Provide strategic advice regarding physical security risks, emerging threats, operational vulnerabilities, and risk mitigation.
- Prepare and deliver executive-level security briefings, presentations, reports, recommendations, and business reviews.
- Conduct security risk assessments and develop practical corrective action and risk reduction plans.
- Support security planning for new offices, office expansions, renovations, special events, and changes to business operations.
- Oversee security operations across multiple locations to ensure consistent service delivery and compliance with established standards.
- Lead the development and implementation of site security plans, post orders, emergency procedures, and incident response protocols.
- Oversee contract security personnel, supervisors, vendors, and security service providers.
- Monitor staffing levels, training, performance, service quality, and contractual requirements.
- Develop and track security performance measures, key performance indicators, trends, and service-level results.
- Lead or support investigations involving workplace violence, threats, theft, misconduct, security breaches, and other sensitive incidents.
- Coordinate with Human Resources, Workplace, Legal, Health and Safety, Facilities, Information Security, and other internal partners.
- Support emergency management, crisis response, business continuity, and workplace violence prevention initiatives.
- Oversee physical security systems, including access control, video surveillance, alarms, visitor management, and incident reporting systems.
- Identify opportunities to improve security operations through technology, process improvements, training, and data analysis.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Canadian legislation, privacy requirements, occupational health and safety obligations, client standards, and Allied Universal policies.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, budgets, operational plans, and security documentation.
- Be available to support urgent incidents and operational requirements outside regular business hours when necessary.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of seven years of progressive experience in corporate security, physical security, security operations, risk management, law enforcement, military, emergency management, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience building, implementing, and maintaining a corporate security program within Canada.
- Experience managing security operations across multiple locations.
- Proven experience working directly with senior executives and C-suite stakeholders.
- Experience providing strategic security advice, executive reporting, and risk-based recommendations.
- Strong knowledge of corporate physical security, security risk management, incident response, investigations, and emergency preparedness.
- Experience managing contract security personnel, vendors, or outsourced security services.
- Strong leadership, relationship management, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong presentation skills and the ability to communicate complex security matters clearly to executive audiences.
- Strong business judgment and the ability to balance security requirements with operational and organizational priorities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and highly visible environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
- Ability to travel between Canadian locations as required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain any required provincial security licence or certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Security Management, Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP), or another recognized security designation.
- Experience supporting a national or enterprise-level corporate security program.
- Experience within the technology, entertainment, media, corporate office, or high-profile commercial sectors.
- Experience with enterprise access control, video surveillance, visitor management, and incident management systems.
- Experience supporting executive protection, major events, crisis management, or business continuity programs.
- Knowledge of Canadian privacy, occupational health and safety, and workplace violence prevention requirements.
