Overview
Allied Universal is seeking a dynamic and diverse group of professionals to join our team as Security GSOC Operators. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and an effective communicator who thrives in a fast-paced, team-driven environment. Position Title: Security GSOC Operator
Location: Waterloo, ON
Department: Global Security Operations Centre (GSOC)
Employment Type: Full-Time – Rotational Schedule
Shift Times: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM, 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM, 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Candidates must be available to work all shifts.

Compensation: $25.44 per hour

The Global Security Operations Centre (GSOC) serves as a 24/7 intake and triage hub for physical security incidents across client sites. The successful Security GSOC Operator will demonstrate the ability to effectively manage and respond to emergency situations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise, delegate, and assess tasks performed by GSOC operators, including data entry, documentation, communication systems monitoring, electronic record management, and report preparation.

  • Coordinate workflows and collaborate with internal departments and external partners to ensure operational efficiency.

  • Identify operational challenges and implement solutions while preparing and submitting regular updates and incident reports.

  • Train team members on job responsibilities, safety procedures, and company policies.

  • Ensure operational equipment is functioning effectively and arrange for maintenance or repairs as required.

  • Foster strong working relationships across teams and with external stakeholders.

  • Demonstrate leadership, accountability, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

  • Monitor and triage physical security incidents remotely, including alarms related to vandalism, intrusion, and unauthorized activity.

  • Adapt to evolving business needs in a 24/7 operational environment.

  • Perform operational duties as required alongside team members.


Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Some experience using the security software used on site (C-Cure or ProWatch) or post secondary experience (police foundations, similarly-themed university programs, etc)
  • 1–2 years of experience in the security industry or a related field (preferred).

  • Strong computer proficiency, communication, and customer service skills.

  • Experience in alarm monitoring or operations is an asset.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and critical thinking ability.

  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement—personally and within a team environment.

  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

  • A collaborative mindset with a positive and professional approach to teamwork.


Qualifications

  • Valid Security Guard License (required).

  • Valid First Aid/CPR certification (required).

  • Minimum age of 18 with a high school diploma or equivalent.

  • Proven ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and motivate others.

  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
