Location: Whitby, Durham region
Type: Full Time
Pay Rate: $18.00per hour
responder support during security-related and life safety incidents and emergencies.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Access Control: Provide access control where applicable, to include managing access for contractors and delivery personnel.
- Patrols: Conduct general as well as focused patrols (interior and exterior) looking for hazards, building deficiencies, insecure premises, criminal or prohibited activity, suspicious persons, suspicious activities, items, or vehicles.
- Emergency Response: Respond to a varied array of “calls for service” as well as provide first responder services for all security and life safety emergencies and incidents.
- Incident Reporting: Document and report incidents accurately, ensuring all relevant details are captured for future reference and analysis.
- Professional Communication: Maintain clear and professional communication through email correspondence with team members and other stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure a cohesive approach to security across all operations.
- Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate logs of incidents, inspections, and other relevant documentation for compliance and review.
- Monitoring and Surveillance: Monitor CCTV cameras, alarm systems, and access control systems to detect and prevent security breaches.
- Experience in critical environments where decision making, and actions can impact life-safety and business continuity.
- Excellent administrative and computer skills are a must, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and security management software.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- 2-3 years of experience working in corporate security.
- Must have a valid Provincial Security License.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent/GED or equivalent work experience.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
